OPENING
The meeting started at 2.25pm and the opening prayers was led by Adesina Ogunyebi.
John Ojuola read the minutes of October meeting. Lateef Suberu adopted the minutes and Adesina Ogunyebi seconded.

APOLOGY
Kudi Olobayo and Azeez Momodu sent in message that they won’t  been able to be present at the meeting.

LOGO
A logo that would dignify our Alumni is being worked on. Work is yet to be concluded on it. A car sticker too will be done, Segun Daramola  told the house. He promised to present the logo once its finished.

LEGAL
The constitution is ready copies have been sent to Michael Akuboh in Zaria, Ayedime Bako in Abuja and Olusegun Akintunde in Canada for their contributions as we await their responses before we commence the process of registration.

WELFARE
Bola Olanrewaju called the attention of the House on the benefits for members and our Alma Mata because it was not included in details in the constitution. Ogunyebi Adesina thinks it should not be included while Segun Daramola and Lateef  Suberu disagree with him. Segun Daramola wants us to have a clear cut on the issue as he gave example with what the class of 92 set did for their year group tutor. He went further that a blanket fee cannot be attached instead a token that is reasonable be decided by the Welfare Committee in line with what is available at the time the event occurred. In a situation where the event is out of the jurisdiction of the alumni support from the alumni will be needed to cushion member’s contribution.
Ogunyebi Adesina, brought up suggestion to aid and support Bola Olanrewaju with cash no matter how little in what she does for the alumni. The issue revolves round secretariat role. He volunteered to assist her with the printing of the minutes for meetings once a while Henry Gaji agreed to send recharge card to her once a while too. After several deliberation, Solomon Evanero suggested Two Thousand Naira (N2,000) is reasonable enough to give her every month  as assistance in the running cost. The House agreed. Bola Olanrewaju then suggested that the money should be given when constitution is ready and fully in place. The House agreed that it should take immediate effect as we have started monthly due collection of One thousand Naira each, (N1,000).

PARTY
Response from the post of the end of year party on facebook was not encouraging at all. The date, venue and time as decided before still stands.

OTHER ISSUES
Henry Gaji reminded us that all we are doing is not only branding DEMOSA but also celebrating ourselves as we have a lot of us home and abroad that made DEMOSA proud. Examples are Masai Ujiri an International ambassador, Lanre Lasisi, a journalist with Channels Television one of the choice  television station in Nigeria among others.
A visit to be paid to our Alma Mata in 2013 during their Speech and Prize giving  day in Zaria, Kaduna state  was discussed though the date is not known. The decision to give scholarship to the best Junior Secondary School Three (JSS.3) Student and the best Senior Secondary School Two (SSS.2) Student  was made.
Segun Daramola, reminded the House that this body is the National body of DEMOSA so all other DEMOSA groups especially the different year groups that have decided to come together should all be under the national umbrella and operate same constitution. He further listed the achievements of DEMOSA Lagos in the past one year as follows:
Ø  Contribution to assist one of our members financially
Ø  Our presence at the funeral of late Mrs. Jaja our former Principal in her home town in Kaduna State

DEMOSA END OF YEAR PARTY AT ONE

DEMOSA LAGOS ended the year 2012 in grand style with families of members present at the occasion having more than enough to eat and drink. Those that still had the strength also had to take one or few bottles for the road. We will also like to thank the entire members of the LAGOS chapter for this great feat. DEMOSA has come to stay for good and forever. Long live DEMOSA long Demonstration secondary School ABU ZARIA.
