The meeting started at about 4.30pm with the opening prayers which was said by Fisayo Arowosegbe.

The initial address was given by Segun Daramola. He said that the idea of us coming together was thought of by all of us and not an individual's idea.

He said he was both surprised and very happy at the response when he got in touch with people about DEMOSA. Everyone was in support of it as if they were all waiting for the magic words.

Segun Daramola said that the love we had for one another in our school days was genuine love which had no strings attached. He said we need to connect with each other to know how we can help one another, help our community and also our Alma Mata.He said the benefits of bonding are enormous. We need to bond with one another and build strong relationships with our individual families.

Segun Daramola's points were based on these questions:
1. How often do we meet?
2. Where do we meet?
3. How do we bring other people in?
4. How do we develop alumni that will be strong?
5. What programs do we align for ourselves to keep DEMOSA alive?
6. How do we make our own logo?
7. How do we raise funds to put structures in place e.g.
contribute to our school?
Segun said Mrs. Alaiyemola (our then vice-Principal) was around in Lagos and that it would be nice to visit her. He then said that everyone should discuss the points that he had raised.
Victor Buoro said that this association had existed before so the idea of making a logo will be contradictory. Segun responded by saying that whatever we do will be referred to as Lagos chapter of DEMOSA.
Kolawole, Segun suggested we should meet once a month while Victor Buoro suggested last Sunday of every month. These days were unanimously agreed upon and the same timing of 2pm was also adopted. Kudi Olobayo asked if the name DEMOSA was appropriate for the association and every one agreed that it was ok.
Segun Daramola suggested that we should have picnics with our individual families once in a while to increase the bond among us and it was agreed to by all. He also suggested that we should do something like a get together during Christmas. Majority of us did not agree to this because some people either had other programs to attend during this period or had to travel out of town.
We all introduced ourselves one after the other and discussed about our mates. Bola Olanrewaju said that she had been in touch with some of them. It was suggested that we should scan some pictures of our school old days on facebook for reminiscence. We unanimously agreed to meet again on Sunday, 18th of December at 2pm. It was also agreed that everyone should bring something to share e.g food, drinks, etc.
We also decided to visit Mrs. Alaiyemola and to present her with a gift.

Ninma Apim moved the motion to bring the meeting to a close while John Ojuola seconded it. The meeting came to an end at 5.30pm with taking of pictures and closing prayers which was led by Bola Olanrewaju.

We then proceeded to visit Mrs. Alaiyemola at her son's residence in Magodo. She was both delighted and overjoyed to see us. Segun Daramola who spoke on our behalf told her about how happy we were to see her in good health and in high spirit. He also reminded her about all the values and discipline that she and the other teachers imbibed in us as students. He said that we will forever be grateful to her because those values and especially the discipline , though difficult to accept then, has helped in shaping our current lifestyles in one way of the other.

We also discussed about the other teachers and asked their whereabouts. we learnt that some are still in the school while others have moved on.

Mrs. Alaiyemola said that she was very delighted to see us and that she is happy to see that all of us have grown up to become responsible men and women of the society. She said that she could not have imagined that 30 years after, she would see her products coming to visit her. She said that she is very proud of us and wished us the best in our endeavors.
We took some pictures with Mrs. Alaiyemola and her children. Fisayo Arowosegbe prayed and Mrs. Alaiyemola also prayed for us.

The visit ended at about 6.10pm.

-Kudirat Olobayo
